We make beautiful use of what some discard.

Converting, upgrading, refurbishing, up-cyling from second hand is our preferred way to create home improvements without consuming more of the earth’s materials and energy embodied in new products.

Our west facing terrace gets too hot on summer afternoons, so we have made some screens using discarded materials from Wanaka’s famous recycling centre. I made these rolling screens strung on a tensioned wire and with refurbished furniture we created this outdoor room for summer.

Reusing stuff makes us far happier than buying more new things. The circular economy works for us.
